Christmas is an important holiday in Greece. It is not only a religious holiday, but it is also a time for families to come together and enjoy some great memories

Christmas Day is on December 25th in Greece, and the Greeks celebrate what’s known as the “12 Days of Christmas.” Essentially, the celebrations begin on Christmas Day on December 25th and end on January 6th, the day of Epiphany.

Merry Christmas – Καλά Χριστούγεννα [ kala christouenna ]

Happy New Year – Καλή Χρονιά [ Kali Chronia ]

Χρόνια πολλά – chronia polla – This phrase is difficult to translate. You say it when you wish someone many years of good health. It is said on someone’s birthday, name day, major holidays, etc. It is definitely said on Christmas.
